Fractions and Westward Expansion...Interactive Learning!

We are in the process of learning so many AMAZING things in class!
(Please take a moment to check out the Photos section!)

Fractions!

Fraction Pizza's are due on Thursday, 3/31.  If you need another handout with directions, or if you need help securing a pizza box for the project please let me know.  Of course we can't just have cardboard pizza to help us learn, we will be having a Fraction Lunch on Thursday, 3/31.  Please check your email for details.  We will review fractions and have a Fraction Assessment on Friday, April 1st.  (That is no joke!)

Westward Expansion Day!

Time to pack up and Head West... We will have a Westward Expansion Day on Wednesday, April 6th.  We will send out a SignUp Genius for needed helpers and supplies.  Highlights include: Chuck Wagon, Covered Wagon Races, Pony Express, and more)

Magnets!

We are learning about all things Magnetic!  Students are loving the opportunity to explore magnetism.
(Side Note:  Our class was in awe getting to observe cells under a microscope.  If you are looking for a cool "toy",  Hobby Lobby has kid friendly microscopes with pre-made slides.  It was a huge hit and we will be bringing them out for more exploration opportunities).

Tall Tales!
Let the exaggeration begin!  We are studying Paul Bunyan this week and we have learning about John Henry and Johnny Appleseed.  We are also diving deep into Expository writing and all things "Preposition" this week (prepositional phrases, prepositions, objects of prepositions).

I hope you had a wonderful R&R week.  I am looking forward to another wonderful week of learning~
