Please take a moment to preview our week ahead.  It promises to be a busy week, with lots of great opportunities to be involved at the Lincoln Campus!  You will find a link for fall conferences below.  Please note these conferences are for PARENTS ONLY and will take place on October 17-19th.  Students will return for a regular half day on October 19th.

WEDNESDAY: 

PSO Parent Meeting 8:15 am
                    

Join us at the school for our first general PSO meeting for all parents on Wednesday, September 28th at 8:15 am. Our Academy Dean, Mrs. Toyin Atolagbe, will share information about learning styles, teaching styles, and homework strategies. During this informative 1-hour session, she will cover:

• Learning & Teaching Styles and general homework tips
• How to identify learning styles of children
• How Great Heart's curriculum aligns with all learning styles
• How to support your child’s learning style while assisting with homework and overall learning at home
• And more!

 

THURSDAY:  During the Day: 
Book Preview for the Usborne Book Fair.   

 

If you have availability and would like to come help our class preview the book fair (and create wish lists) we are looking for 3-4 parents to assist from 9:25-9:40 with our classroom preview.

 

Thursday NIGHT:
Reading Under the Stars Family Literacy Night

Please join us in celebrating the grand opening of our Archway Lincoln Library with a Literacy Night, Thursday, September 29 5:30 - 7:30 pm.

 

The evening will feature special literacy events including guest readers, a craft for younger students, food trucks, a book fair, the Read-a-Thon kick off and a special library dedication from Mr. Kuhlman.

(I hate to miss this wonderful event, my children have a choir event that evening, please enjoy a wonderful night!!!)

This week we are studying the following:

Ancient China- The Yellow and Yangtze Rivers/ Confucius/ Importance of Ancestors.  
We will have a simple Ancestor activity (family tree) to complete over the weekend NEXT weekend for homework- we will send it home in plenty of time to complete!
