Thank
you to all the families for making a VERY busy week successful! Last
week we accomplished a lot of learning in addition to many "extras".
You can send money with your child through the end of the week for the book fair!
This week we are kicking off our month long read-a-thon with classroom
Mystery Readers each day! We are encouraging each child to sign in to
our online read-a-thon to log reading minutes during the month of
October. We will have classroom incentives from
time to time to encourage the students to be reading/discussing books/
and raising money for reading! Please know this is a completely safe
site, and students in no way will be connected to any other place on the
internet, nor will they be able to discuss
books with anyone other than classmates and myself! If you have
misplaced the login sheet that went home on Friday, please let me know
so I can send the information home again!
I hope your Ancestor Tree project was a time of enjoyable learning and
sharing about your family heritage. I look forward to presentations
this week for those who wish to share! (Grades are not affected if your
child wishes to not share).
We are hoping to get to Calligraphy this week for Ancient China. If
you could bring in ONE PAINTBRUSH by Friday that would be wonderful!
(Watercolor size, not a wall paint brush!)
Fall Break is NEXT week!!! This Friday, October 7th will be an early release day!
I hope you enjoy a week of recharge and family time. Please be sure to
sign up for fall conferences if you have not done so. I look forward to
visiting with each of you after fall break! School will resume on
Wednesday, October 19th as a regular half-day.
I will be holding conferences the 17th, 18th, and 19th (after school).
Friday (and Thursday for those who are ready early) will be our 2nd Poem Recitation:
