Week of: 9/12-9/16

I hope you are having a great weekend.  Your students did a wonderful job presenting Bed In Summer, we have just a few left to present on Monday.  I was so proud of them getting up in front of their peers to recite the poem!  Thank you for working with your student on this important life skill- public speaking!

Here is a quick look at our week, and events coming up soon:

Monday, 9/12:  Spalding Night with Mrs. Clouse, 6:00-7:30 pm in the cafeteria (please see below for additional information regarding this event)

Friday, 9/23 (not this week, but the next!!!!)  Half Day

Upcoming Tests:
None this week except our usual Spalding Test

Following week:  History on Friday, 9/23 over Ancient India (review notes will go home 9/21-9/22)

Spalding Information NIght
Our Phonics Consultant, Margie Clouse, will conduct a workshop to help parents learn The Spalding Method, the phonics program used at Archway Lincoln. This session is aimed primarily at parents who are new to the school.
       Learn specific handwriting instruction and coaching skills for phonograms. Emphasis will be on manuscript writing, pencil and paper positions, and instructions for homework procedures. A cursive model will be available.
       Learn reasons for markings and rules used in The Spalding Method by actively applying analysis to Ayres List of Vocabulary Words.
 
The session will be from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in the
Archway Lincoln cafeteria.
