It is hard to believe we have been in school for over a month now! Time flies when you are busy learning!
I
hope you all had a wonderful weekend and Labor Day! The students were
eager to write all about their weekend fun so I know it was a memorable
break!
This week we are learning the following:
Math: Addition and Subtraction with renaming, and applying the operations to word problems
Literature: Boxcar Children, story elements
Grammar: Subject nouns and types of sentences
Imperative
Declarative
Exclamatory
Interrogative
Spalding: We still have 30 words: 15 today and tomorrow!
History: Ancient India: Indus River Valley Civilization and Hinduism
Science: Water Cycle
Here are the lyrics to our Water Cycle Song:
Water travels in a cycle, yes it does!
Water travels in a cycle, yes it does!
It goes up as evaporation
forms a cloud- that's condensation
then falls down as precipitation
Yes, it does!
YEE HAW (added for some Texas emphasis! :)
We are collecting Box Tops- thank you to all who have donated!
Also, we are out of tissue boxes- if anyone has a spare we would greatly appreciate it until I can get to the store!
