Here We Go!

The next several weeks leading up to semester break are always fast paced and FULL of events.  I will do my best to keep you fully up to date!  Here we go:

Simple Machines Project Week:

Project week is not until your student returns to school in January.  However, a note about the Simple Machines project is going home MONDAY.  Please stick it on the refrigerator as a reference.  We will have 3 check-in assignments for this project.  The first check in assignment is due before Thanksgiving break.  It will also go home on MONDAY.  Please return Check-In 1 completed no later than November 22nd.

Poem:

I haven't updated much about the poem recitation this month.  It is 2 short poems, that are less about memorization and more about expression!  I will be listening for inflection and expression in these cute, catchy poems that are due on November 22nd!  (I will take early volunteers starting this Friday).

Japan Quiz:

this Thursday.  Review/Tri-fold will come home on Wednesday.

Spelling Bee:

A grade level spelling test will be given on Wednesday.  The top five spellers on the test will then participate in an oral spelling be (in our classroom only) on Friday.  Please see the attachment for additional practice words if your child is interested.  Our top finisher in the classroom will advance to the next round.

PSO Movie Night:

Our movie night is this Friday night!  It promises to be a lot of fun, and it is a great time to catch up with friends and meet other families in a relaxed atmosphere.  The weather is going to be perfect!

French Test Corrections:

The test and correction sheet are due Thursday.  Any child scoring a 23/30 or LESS must turn in corrections.

Mandatory Choir Concert this Thursday:

When – Thursday, November 17th at 5:30 PM

Where – Archway Lincoln Gym

Call Time – 5 PM (All students should report to their classrooms)

Please follow the morning drop off procedure the night of the concert.
Teaching Assistants will be curb-side to help students exit their cars and make their way to the classrooms. Students will be able to get a quick drink and have a bathroom break before lining up to walk to the gym with their teachers.

After each grade level performs, they will exit to their classrooms.

Please wait until each grade (K-2) has performed to pick up your child.

All the K-2 students have been working hard to learn their music and they deserve a full audience. At the end of the K-2 concert, you may pick up your child from their classroom. If you have older students, please pick up your K-2 child so that they may sit with you during the 3-5 concert.

Dress Code for Concerts:

Girls must wear a white collared shirt, black skirt (knee length or longer) with or dress slacks, and black dress shoes (black tights if desired).

Boys must wear a white collared, button-down shirt, black slacks, black socks and black dress shoes.

The students will be wearing the same attire for the Spring Concert in April.
